1. Check Xbox Live Service Status
- Visit the Xbox Live Status page.
- If services are down, wait for Microsoft to resolve the issue before troubleshooting further.
2. Restart Router and PC
- Power cycle your router/modem by unplugging it for 30 seconds.
- Restart your PC and test the connection again.
3. Run Xbox Networking Test
- Go to Settings → Gaming → Xbox Networking.
- Check for connection issues and NAT type.
- If NAT is Strict or Moderate, enable UPnP in your router settings or manually open Xbox Live ports.
4. Clear Xbox App and Gaming Services Cache
- Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run:
wsreset.exe
- Restart your PC.
- Optionally, reinstall the Xbox app from Microsoft Store.
5. Update Gaming Services and Xbox App
- Open Microsoft Store → Library → Get Updates.
- Install any available updates for Gaming Services and Xbox.
6. Sync Date and Time
- Go to Settings → Time & Language → Date & Time.
- Enable Set time automatically and click Sync now.
7. Disable VPN/Proxy Temporarily
- VPNs or proxy servers can block certain Xbox Live traffic.
- Disconnect them and retry the connection.
8. Reset Gaming Services (Advanced)
- Open Windows PowerShell (Admin) and run:
get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
- Reinstall Gaming Services when prompted.
