1. Reseat or Remove Memory Modules
Power down your system and carefully reinsert or remove any hot-swappable memory modules. This helps resolve poor physical contact or detection issues.
2. Update BIOS/Firmware
Visit your motherboard or server manufacturer’s website and install the latest BIOS or firmware version. This ensures stability and compatibility with removable or upgraded memory.
3. Install Updated Drivers
Focus on drivers related to the memory controller, chipset, and hot-swap hardware:
- Open Device Manager
- Right-click the relevant device → Update driver
4. Check Memory Compatibility
Ensure that the installed RAM modules are certified and listed in the motherboard’s Qualified Vendor List (QVL). Incompatible or uncertified RAM can cause crashes or instability.
5. Run Memory Diagnostics
Use Windows Memory Diagnostic to identify issues with RAM:
- Press Win + R, type mdsched.exe
- Select Restart now and check for problems
