1.Repair PST File with Inbox Repair Tool (ScanPST.exe)
This built-in Outlook tool can fix most data corruption issues:
- Close Outlook completely.
- Search for ScanPST.exe (usually found in the Office installation folder).
- Open it, browse to your PST file (commonly in Documents > Outlook Files), and start the scan.
- Follow prompts to repair.
2.Check Mail Account Settings
- Go to Outlook → File → Account Settings → select your account → click “Change.”
- Verify incoming/outgoing server settings, encryption methods, and login info.
3.Create a New PST File
- Backup your current PST.
- File → Account Settings → Data Files → Add → Create New PST.
- Set it as default and move essential emails from the old file.
4. Run Office Repair
- Go to Control Panel → Programs → Microsoft Office → Change → Repair.
- Choose Quick Repair first; if that doesn't work, try Online Repair.
5. Disable Add-Ins
- Open Outlook in Safe Mode (Outlook.exe /safe).
- File → Options → Add-Ins → Manage COM Add-ins → Disable unnecessary ones.
6. Free Up Disk Space
- Delete unused files or move large items to an external drive.
- Run Disk Cleanup (cleanmgr.exe) to reclaim space.
