1. Check Your Internet Connection
- Ensure you're connected to a stable network. Try opening a browser and visiting a website. If that fails, fix the connection first.
2. Use Google Public DNS
Sometimes switching DNS can solve name resolution problems:
- Go to Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center → Change adapter settings.
- Right-click your connection → Properties → Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
- Use these DNS addresses:
- Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8
- Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4
3. Flush DNS Cache
- Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run: ipconfig /flushdns
- Then restart your system and try Outlook again.
4. Repair or Reset Outlook Settings
- Go to Control Panel → Mail → Email Accounts.
- Check server settings and correct any errors in incoming/outgoing server fields.
- Use “Repair” under Account Settings if needed.
5. Disable Antivirus/Firewall Temporarily
Security software might be blocking access:
- Temporarily turn off your antivirus/firewall and try Outlook again.
- If Outlook works, create an exception rule for it in your security software.
6. Check the Hosts File
Sometimes, entries in the hosts file can block servers:
- Navigate to: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
- Open with Notepad.
- Remove any suspicious or incorrect entries related to Outlook domains.
7. Run Windows Network Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Status → Network Troubleshooter.
